Health & Safety
Please read this before playing. It covers photosensitivity, comfort, and safe play.
Important
Photosensitive seizure warning
A very small percentage of people may experience seizures when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns. Monster Smoosh includes occasional flashing-light effects — most notably a thunderclap with a brief full-screen flash — that can occur during normal play.
Even people with no history of seizures may have an undiagnosed condition. If you or anyone in your family has an epileptic condition or has had seizures of any kind, consult a doctor before playing.
Stop playing immediately and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms while playing: dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitches, loss of awareness, disorientation, involuntary movements, or convulsions.
Sensitive to flashing lights? You can turn the lightning effect off. Open the in-game secret menu (hold Esc, hold B on a controller, or press and hold the bottom-right corner of the screen) and enable “Disable Lightning Strikes.”
Play comfortably
- Sit a good distance from the screen, in a well-lit room.
- Take a 10–15 minute break every hour.
- Stop if your hands, wrists, eyes, or arms feel tired or uncomfortable, and rest before playing again.
- Don't play when you're drowsy or fatigued.
Sound
The game has sudden sounds, including impacts and thunder. Keep the volume at a comfortable level — especially with headphones — to protect your hearing. You can adjust or mute Music and SFX any time in Settings (press O, or Start on a controller).
Motion & visuals
Monster Smoosh has bouncy physics and the occasional screen shake or flying UFO. The effects are mild, but if on-screen movement makes you feel queasy, take breaks as described above.
